Immortality of an Atheist

I have no God to guide and comfort me.
I have no soul to help me distinguish right from wrong.
I have no promise of paradise if I behave.
I will never see dead friends again.

When I die, do not look for me among the stars.
Do not look for me in the heavens.
Do not look for me running with the deer or soaring with the birds.
I will not be there.

But I can still live forever.

Everything I do effects other people.
I choose to be kind. I choose to love.
Because I want to.
Not because I was told to.

Look inside yourself and you will find me.
Remember me kindly and I will be with you.
I am my deeds and my actions, for better or worse.
My memory lives in those I have known.

This is my eternal life.
